There are a few casinos located in the commonwealth, the biggest number being on anchored scows. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is available 24 hours, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and four eatery’s. There are several other popular Iowa casinos, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A tinier Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a paddle wheel boat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 one armed bandits, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river boat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slots, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa riverboat gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is open 24 hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot riverboat gambling den in Clinton, has 506 one armed bandits, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday chemin de fer events.

Iowa casinos offer an excellent deal of tax revenue to the commonwealth of Iowa, which has allowed the funding of many state wide activities. Visitors have gotten bigger at a rapid percentage along with the request for processors and a gain in jobs.
